Special Spaces is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and our mission is simple but zealous. It is to create dream bedrooms for children with life threatening illnesses; a place that only the child can dream of or imagine while addressing their medical needs. Special Spaces was founded on the precedent that children battling a life threatening illness need their own special space. It should be a special space of hope and inspiration and a place to find peace and comfort.

Stella

Stella & Taylor

Stella is 9 years old and currently in the 4th grade. She has been fighting high risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since diagnosed on March 2nd 2011 after being really sick for the entire month of February.

Stella lives with Mom and Dad as well as her brother, Nigel who is 2 years younger. She loves bright rainbows of colors, kitties and Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift’s music has brought continued comfort to Stella throughout treatment along with her cat, Chloe.

Stella has been involved with Girl Scouts since she started as a Daisy Scout in first grade and is now a Junior Scout in the fourth grade who attends meetings when she’s feeling well enough to. As a Scout, Stella has enjoyed helping others. Even when in treatment she continued to help by making handmade Valentine’s for troops at the base where her uncle had been stationed in Afghanistan as well as sending treats, Girl Scout cookies and ornaments she made.

If your company or organization would like to sponsor Stella or any of the children on our waiting list, please contact Lynn via this link or through the menu above.
