Special Spaces is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and our mission is simple but zealous. It is to create dream bedrooms for children with life threatening illnesses; a place that only the child can dream of or imagine while addressing their medical needs. Special Spaces was founded on the precedent that children battling a life threatening illness need their own special space. It should be a special space of hope and inspiration and a place to find peace and comfort.
Scotty has Angelman Syndrome. Scotty cannot speak, he has seizures, severe reflux, chronic constipation, asthma, scoliosis, suffers from headaches, back pain, hip pain, he has chronic upper respiratory infections, his airway often closes when he gets a cold, his walking is off balance and he often falls, he has jerky movements, has difficulty feeding himself, and yet he smiles.
Angelman Syndrome is a devastating disorder. Look past the beautiful face and the obvious love in his eyes and you just might see the struggle.
Scotty’s bedroom makeover is scheduled for May 3rd and will be Sponsored by GMCH Lockport Women in Manufacturing.
If your company or organization would like to sponsor any of the children on our waiting list, please contact Lynn via this link or through the menu above.
Angel’s bedroom makeover has been postponed, but it will be taking place shortly after Scotty’s! We just wanted to keep all of our fans informed!
